‘ASSOCIATE’ MEMBERSHIP for NON STAFF

APPLICATION TO JOIN THE SPORTS & SOCIAL ORGANISATION

The Sports & Social Organisation is split into two. One section is HASSRA Fylde the other is CSSC, the Civil Service Sports Council North Fylde. Non-staff may join both, but unlike staff that pay monthly, we must ask you to pay a non-refundable subscription for the full year.

All of the special interest clubs at Fylde are in HASSRA and to join any activity you must join HASSRA. Beyond this, some of the clubs are also in the CSSC and their members must also join the CSSC. These clubs should tell you whether they are in HASSRA and CSSC when you ask to join. Ask the Sports Office if you are unsure. Both organisations offer terrific value to all of their membership.

If you simply want to use the Norcross Social Centre, join us on coach trips, or even get cheaper cinema tickets you just have to join HASSRA.

Please note that HASSRA ‘Associate’ membership is not open to members of staff at any of the Fylde offices who must join as full members.

CSSC ‘Associate’ membership is open only to those aged 18 years and over.

If you have a family member who is a full member of the CSSC he/she can pay monthly payments for you as an alternative to you paying in full (maximum of one Associate per full member). Please consult the Sports Office for details.

Please note that CSSC ‘Associate’ membership is not open to members of staff or retired Civil Servants in receipt of a pension from the Paymaster General. They must become full members.

In all cases, please return this form to the HASSRA Sports Office, Room 102G, DWP, Norcross, Blackpool, FY5 3TA, enclosing full payment (cheques payable to HASSRA Fylde) or credit card details.

Associate Membership Benefits

As an Associate member you will be able to:

v Join any of the sporting and hobby clubs affiliated to the Fylde Association where you will have access to all club activities and have a right to vote on club policies.

v Will be able to frequent the Fylde Association bars and benefit from nationally or locally discounted prices on drinks. Also use the bars as an ordinary member and invite occasional guests.

v Take part in any locally organised competitions or activities, which are not linked to inter-regional of national competitions or activities, organised by the national association.

v Book the all-weather area for five-a-side football, at the HASSRA Sports grounds

v Purchase show and attraction tickets at reduced prices, this price being more beneficial than high street prices for individuals.

v Join in the various coach excursions at discounted prices, this price being the same as offered to full staff members.

v Purchase tickets in the annual Christmas Draw.

Attend the various social evenings in the bars including the Christmas Party, New Years Eve Party, musical and Cheese and Wine evenings etc.

Associate members, however, cannot:

v Vote at any Fylde Association management meeting or its Annual General Meeting.

v Purchase tickets in the National Hassra Lottery.

v Automatically receive a copy of the Association magazine, although copies are available if requested, (see overleaf) copies are available in the Social Centre, staff canteens or via other contacts.

v Benefit from member’s funds allocated to the sponsorship of members embarking on special activities meriting financial assistance.

v Be included in the monthly draws, which pay prizes to ‘new members’, ‘established members’ and ‘members who introduce new members’.
