ARCHERY Taster event

HASSRA North East are organising a "taster" event for Archery.

The event will probably be a Saturday in July in the South of the region (as that is where the instructors are based).

Further details will follow.

The above competition will take place on Tuesday 18th June 2013 at Hunley Hall Golf Club, Brotton, Nr Saltburn, Cleveland.

The best gross and net scores (gentlemen and ladies) will qualify for the HASSRA national golf competition at Forrest of Arden GC in 2014. (Accommodation will be provided at Warwick University)

There will be 9 holes in the morning followed by the competition which will be 18 holes stroke-play with a maximum playing handicap of 28 for gentlemen and 30 for ladies. This will be followed by an evening meal.

There will be an associated 18 hole stableford competition of which the top 8 players will qualify for the inter-regional team event also being played at Hunley Hall on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th September 2013. (The remaining players being the captain and 3 captain’s selections).

Entry fee £10. Cheques made payable to Hassra NE.

Entries are invited for a regional qualifier for the National Hassra Music competition being held at the late summer festival on Saturday 14th September 2013 at Warwick University.

The competition is in 3 categories –

• Classical voice (Opera, operetta, classical composers)

• Contemporary voice (Anything not covered by classical including musical theatre).

• Instrumentalist.

(Entry can be accepted for more than one category but there is a maximum of 3 entries per region).

Winners will be decided by an independent adjudicator.

Do we have any budding artists in our Region, we need 2 HASSRA members to take part in the National Competition to be held at Warwick University.

Over the course of the day, you will be set a series of artistic challenges combining drawing and painting to test your mettle.

Judging will be based on work produced over the course of the day and we will be awarding prizes based on your observations of working from life. If you are unfamiliar with working in this way, it will be a chance for you to open up and broaden your artistic skill.

The competition is open to artists of all levels and with different artistic skills.

We are at the moment looking for members to express an interest in taking part, if we have more than the two members required, we will hold a regional qualifier.

We are looking for members to show an expression of interest in taking part in a photography Competition.

The National Competition to be held at Warwick University on the 14 September, will be a live competition and prizes will be awarded for work produced over the course of the day. The Region can enter a maximum of 2, you will need to go armed with cameras, any additional equipment you wish to use and all your technical and artistic talent.

Over the course of the day, you will be set a series of photographic challenges combining creative skills and technical ability.

Judging will be based on work produced over the course of the day, prizes will be awarded based on your observations of working from life, your artistic ability and your approach and interpretation of the various stages.

Interested We are at the moment looking for members to express an interest in taking part, if we have more than the two members required, we will hold a regional qualifier.

Play Rugby or have you played rugby union or league?

HASSRA North East are looking for players, both male and female, to join our current teams and want to hear AS SOON AS POSSIBLE from players of ALL STANDARDS, to represent the North East at the Summer Festival, being held at Warwick University, Saturday 14 September 2013.

The standard is not high so forwards do not be put off.

The winning team of the competition will represent HASSRA NE in the National Final being held at the Summer Festival 14 September 2013, at Warwick University.
