Details of past events:

  • Trip to Windermere
  • Chester Races
  • Ten pin bowling was another success as over forty staff got together at Middlebrook in Horwich. This year we didn’t get anyone selected to go forward to the national teams. However we had Mark Lowe and Chris Leach as the highest scoring male and female competitors.
  • A night at Belle Vue Dogs as always was well attended. There were some winners and some losers but overall an excellent night.
  • Dragon boat racing was a great day. When the team arrived in Southport the water was too “choppy” to take the Dragon Boats out. Instead we took out Bell Bottom Boats. All the women were surprised when they got wet as, believe it or not, many didn’t realise that water would come in the boat. Although the wind made it chilly everyone had fun. Bolton had two canoes. One canoe had lots of merriment and fun. The other was very competitive with advice and tips being given by the captain through the race.
  • Traffic at Birmingham made the coach late for the trip to The Good Food Show at the Exhibition Centre. However everyone loved the day out with request to do it again in the New Year.
  • Lots of new faces were seen on the trip to Chester races. Two coach loads went to Chester. It was a real family day out with stalls and a fair in the centre of the course and of course the obligatory bar. The sun shone and a few got a nice tan as well as winning a few pounds on the horses.
  • The Christmas Party this year was held at the Ramada Jarvis. Over sixty staff attended. Everyone had a good time and said they would use the venue again.
  • We also had a Children’s Christmas Party. Father Christmas was a great hit and the children had party games and ate lots of jelly. Oh to be a child again….
