Archery
Archery is a most ancient sport, a sport of both Kings and Queens and is today the only sport providing the official royal bodyguard to the monarch. The skilful use of the longbow at Crecy and Agincourt laid down its mark in the annals of history and today we retain that history and balance it alongside a modern Olympic sport, since 1972 and has been highly commended by the International Olympic Committee for its ability to adapt to the changing face of sport and the media.
A wonderful and probably unique aspect of archery is the opportunity for competitors of any ability to compete. Archery is one of the few sports that is enjoyed with few compromises by people with most types of disability. Special guidance and instruction is available, even for the visually impaired. It is not uncommon to see disabled archers sometimes in wheelchairs, shooting alongside their able bodied friends on the same tournament shooting line.

Clay Pigeon Shooting
The event is free to HASSRA members and is part of the regional qualifiers if the competition is held that year.
The event usually takes place near Preston and starts at 09:30 and lasts till about 14:00 depending on numbers the event is normally oversubscribed so it is best to book early to avoid disappointment.

Cricket CSSC
The 11a side cricket competition runs from May every year and is open to office teams. There are no qualifiers as there is not a national comp but NW HASSRA do enter a regional team in the national CSSC comp.

Teams for this year's competition are invited for the above event and can be forwarded to Steve Neary.
Teams of nine will consist of no more than 4 males and a minimum of 2 to play at anyone time. A squad of ten players are allowed including one reserve, a nominated captain will forward the team name, along with each player's staff and HASSRA numbers.
All competitors MUST BE A MEMBER OF HASSRA. None members can join HASSRA at any time prior to the competition, if individuals cannot find a team, I will find a place for those wishing to play.
As always the winners of this event will represent HASSRA North West at the National finals.
